Skilled Nursing Care in Huntersville, NC
I was in Olde Knox after my stroke and if needed I would go back there. All the ladies on my wing were very nice and helping to me and . I never met anyone that that was not willing to help me in any way.
The medical, and therapy staff are first rate. Administration, and activity is okay. The nutritional staff is completely inept. When I was admitted I asked for large portions, and extra protein, because I was there to rehabilitate a broken bone. They failed miserably. I received double portions of carbs! Breakfast was usually a spoonful of powdered scrambled eggs, one slice of bacon (yes, one) cold decaf coffee and if you were lucky, a half pint of milk! The posted menu was never right and they would run out of the entrees, and you got peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Discussed it with the manager several times, but didn’t want to alienate myself, and have kitchen staff sabotage my meal! It was so bad that I had to get Instacart to deliver protein rich snacks and DoorDash for dinner several times a week. Again, the clinical staff, and the therapy staff were top notch! I would probably be in long term care, if not for the excellent care that I received! Bravo to Cara, Krista, and the rest of the physical therapist team. Nurses Ashley, April,Bryan and Capri. Also a shout out to the CNAs, Dani, Meleesa and Bobbie! Thank you so much!
Visited this place on a Sunday. We entered with a nurse, and was greeted by a very rude employee. Completely unhelpful and only gave negative responses.
My mother, 88 yrs young, fell and broke her hip. She spent approximately 35-40 days in rehab at Olde Knox Commons. I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about the staff. They are very responsive and treat everyone with dignity and respect. I was there every day for at least 2 hrs during the week and 6 hrs on the weekend. I would also come before work for 15-20 mins occasionally to meet the people on first shift and get to know those who my mothers care was entrusted. My mother loved the staff and they seemed to love her as well. When tough love was needed to move my sweet lil stubborn lady’s hips, they were there to support me in motivating her. We had zero complaints. Although my mother was happy to come home she expressed how much she would miss her friends and the staff there. By the way I hear social time is the best for avid BINGO enthusiasts 🥰.
Moved my mom here from another home and glad I did. Its neat, clean, no odors like all others. The staff has always been helpful and kept me up to date on happenings with mom.
