Longhouse Memory Care has been a great place for my mom. She has been there for nearly a year and feels well cared for by the staff. She loves the food and having so much greenery nearby. Ashley, the general manager, is phenomenal! She cares deeply for the residents and is great at managing the logistics of the house. I assume Longhouse is a good employer because staff turnover is very low. The staff seem well supported and do their jobs well.
I highly recommend Longhouse to anyone looking for memory care. I feel so lucky to have my mom there.
Between my in-laws, and my parents, we have a lot of experience over with care facilities over 22 years. Everything from private homes to nursing homes, and everything in between. Longhouse Bothell has been a good fit for us and our mother for over 2 years. It is a cross between a home and a facility, located in a nice neighborhood. You are welcome to visit your loved one at any time. You do not feel like you are intruding in a private home, but you also don’t feel like you are visiting an institution. When you come through the front door, you enter a great room with living, kitchen, and dining all up front. They have a sitting room, and a sun room for you to visit, and a gazebo and nice garden out back when the weather is nice. During the summer they put on a nice BBQ inviting friends and family of the residents. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly, and they seem to truly care about our mother. They have a low turn over of employees that helps the elderly gain trust, and we have got to know many of them on a first name basis. The nurse communicates any changes with moms condition or care very prompt and professional via phone, email, or text. Longhouse will charge according to the care your loved one needs, and that care cost will most likely increase with time, but they have the staff and training to always meet our mothers needs. I would recommend others in need to trust Longhouse with their loved ones care.
This is in a nice residential neighborhood with a small park down the street. I appreciate the team work and willingness to make suggested changes when I have recommended something. Every individual is unique and it is the teamwork with clients and their families that help make it a good environment for all involved.
Of all the places we toured Longhouse felt more like a home. The staff was very caring and helpful. I felt that my loved one was in good hands while I wasn’t able to be there. When I was able to be there they were respectful of our time to visit and knocked on the door when they needed to tend to him. There are many options out there, but this is the one we called home for our dad.
Our dear friend suffered from dementia and other neurological issues. We were getting overwhelmed with caring for him at home. It took us over a year of searching and interviewing professional caregivers between Federal Way, Seattle and Mount Vernon before we finally felt the Longhouse Memory Care Household in Bothell would be the most suitable place. Their philosophy of “smaller is better” worked out ideally for us. In the quiet neighborhood we could go out and spend some quality time together. We also got to know the other residents and their families and cared about them also.
The first thing you see when you enter the front door is a bright living space, the kitchen counter and a friendly welcoming staff. Immediately, we felt at home. It took a couple of months for everyone to settle in and understand our friend’s needs and tendencies but he showed improvement under their care. The attention and level of care the staff gives to each resident is admirable. That freed us up to only provide the emotional support.
he needed.
Unfortunately, our loved one entered hospice, but he was able to stay there until he passed away and did not have to relocate. They were on top of keeping him comfortable, explaining everything and we appreciated that.
I would not hesitate to use their facilities and services again and kudos to the management and staff.
