If you care, at all, about your loved ones do NOT send them here. Too much incompetence and laziness and they will not take care of anything. They lost over 5 of their residents in the last 6 weeks. My female boss communicated with me with thumbs up and heart emojis. That’s the level of professionalism, or lack thereof, with this place. Why do they lose so many? Simple. Neglect and abuse followed by horrible cleaning protocols. They had COVID infect all the patients and if you know anything about geriatric care you’d know that residents with already terminal illnesses that get COVID is almost a death sentence to these poor folks. One boss even showed up to my residence without warning or any communication. How wrong. During their COVID protocols, there were wiping things down with old towels and window cleaner! Then, they just used diluted bleach water! They had no typical Clorox or any antiseptic wipes. They barely have hand sanitizer. They’ve been mopping with bleach and citric acid cleaners on their wood plank flooring and damages it. They do more complaining about their hours and about each other nonstop during entire shifts and they wonder why male workers won’t last. Well, when you have your workers that will keep getting on their phones, talking on their phones, listening to music while others are actually working is sad. They’re guilty of neglect and abuse, but once I mentioned it to the MOD, the workers just told me to leave and even opened the door for me. That’s fine. You have a few females neglecting one individual, not helping, not checking, not cleaning up,, all because this individual called you a racial slur. Hello?!? There in memory care for a reason. No compassion at all. I’ve been called so many things but I’ve worked with geriatrics for years and been called many things and it doesn’t bother me one bit. Then, you have the neglect happening on all shifts. It does not matter if it’s a routine behavior, but I will say that no matter what if a resident is screaming “help help help” you need to go and physically check to make sure. They could have easily have just fallen, or worse. “Oh we checked 2 minutes ago.” Uh, no you didn’t because I was in there two minutes ago. Would you like to know what and where they were? In the laundry room (where it’s loud) so they could complain about other people and it’s not fair they have this or that shift. Well, take my hours now and if you complain then quit. Easily half the work staff needs to go. They would offer mandatory training that still people wouldn’t go to. I lost this for the owner(s) and HR. Workers are sleeping during shifts. They are not cleaning properly. They are responsible for the recent passings because of their horrible standards. I will never trust assisted living or memory care because I’ve seen this twice now in various facilities in just Texas. It seems like jobs you get in between are the worse. Yet again, I’m working with woke lazy workers that will complain about their pay and hours when they won’t even work for a full hour straight. They need constant breaks for smoking and eating. And this is my favorite. Hey, if you don’t believe me go review those cameras/CCTV. This place needs an ENTIRE redo. All management gone and replaced ASAP. All current employees must go through two rigorous weeks of REAL training to continue their employment. Let them refuse and quit. Then, you hire the right people. Now, owner(s) or HR, I am more than willing to make this happen but you really need to understand that as a former patient transporter, medical assistant, doctor’s assistant for autistic children, and general caregiver, and teacher of a few years that this is the stuff of nightmares. Management will say “oh we usually lose a few over the holidays” which is kind of true but not nearly that many. How can you live with yourselves knowing that lives are lost within your care. Never happened during any of my shifts. Not one. That’s saying something. Do better, if not, quit now otherwise being terminated is going to be hell.
We couldn’t have found a better place for mom than New Haven. The staff is simply incredible. The facility is always spotless with everything in proper working order. Can’t say enough good things.
Another great event for the residents and their loved ones.
Tracy, the director, took my my mom’s deposit and stated they would have a spot be the end of the month. The month came and went and she went completely silent. So wrong to do this to people that are already in a vulnerable position. Glad we saw their true colors before placing my stepfather there!!
The care provided to our father at New Haven was extraordinary, and we never had to worry about him while he was a resident at this facility. Each and every employee at New Haven genuinely cared about our father’s health and well-being. We truly appreciate, and will only recommend New Haven as the only assisted living and memory care facility for anybody we know.
