We strive to make every moment count for our residents and patients at NHC Place Farragut because we believe in celebrating life at all stages.
My grandmother broke her pelvis and after being taken to different hospitals she was put in NHC, we never could get an answer from any nurse and hardly ever saw a doctor, she did not want any pain medication other than Tylenol, and was only supposed to get pain meds if she requested it. She got extremely sick one day and it was from the medication, we found out that she had been given pain medication the night before and she did not request it, which means that one of the nurses had given her pain meds without permission from her. I know that people have to come to NHC sometimes, such as my grandmother, but I do not recommend it if you absolutely don’t have to.
My 89 year old mother fell and broke her hip in July, 2024. She had a partial hip replacement and was sent to NHC Farragut to do her rehab. When we got there, as we were getting on the elevator there was a sign and masks stating 2nd floor was COVID positive! This was not disclosed to us as we were going thru the admitting process. Her dressing on her hip was not changed as ordered. Pain meds and ice were prescribed , however they were not given and ice was usually not offered nor refreshed. There were very long long wait times when nurse call button activated. The food was disgusting. Her ACE bandage was not removed at night per Dr orders. Showers were not given as scheduled, had to ask over and over. A couple days into her stay my mom started showing signs of COVID. We had to ask several times for her to be tested. Finally after we talked to the speech therapist, she ordered the COVID test for her which was positive. So the speech therapist ordered the COVID test but we could not get the nurse to order one. My mom was quarantined , placed in a wheel chair with an alarm and also a bed alarm. The only time she could try to get up or move was when PT came in during the week. The room and facility was not clean. Trash not emptied, floors needed to be vacuumed. I would not send my dog there. Do not send a family member there.
Everyone, nurses, aids, Therapist’s, and staff have been so kind and polite. I will recommend NHC Farragut to everyone I meet who is looking for the best facility of its kind. I truly do believe that you have found
the,” Better Way “ and it shows.
I have enjoyed my stay. Thank you all so much!
