  1. My brother has vascular dementia and was admitted in October due to a broken arm and was there until December 10th. When he went in, he could stand on his own, used the toilet and was able to walk. After his release, he had not been properly bathed, he had a foul stench, he no longer uses the toilet and can hardly stand on his own. I have been able to retrain him to some extent but he no longer tries to use the toilet. This is the second time he was there with similar results. The speed of his decline was slow until going in to LHCC and since out, he is able to relearn somethings. I really do not think the staff was negligent but that they are grossly understaffed for the capacity. The goal was to prepare him to be able to function at home like before but not bathing him properly and not training him to use the toilet seem to be a problem. Also, his arem was healed up and the doctor said it should be weight bearing but he still avoids using his left arm. This is an issue that they should have addressed while there before releasing him home.

  2. One star for the couple nurses that tried and understood my aunt’s situation. For the rest no star for social services and all the other service… if you plan on putting your loved one here please rethink it. One their beds only available to people on longterm insurance, once your loved ones insurance is exhausted they will discharge even with no place to go, without wound completely healing without family knowing how to inject Insulin they dont care. With constant update of phone numbers they claim they have been trying yo reach us that is because they did not update the phone number given. On top of that the whole time stayed and every visit next patients who wants to take a walk or get up I witness nurses puting them back into bed sounding annoyed and irritated which to me it isnt right.
