I had an 11:00 am appointment scheduled on 10/31/24 with Crystal to view apartment and tour the property. I arrived at 10:58 am and kindly took a seat, which was directly in sight of the office of a woman that I assumed to be the manager. Well, after sitting in lobby for over 30 minutes and not ever being acknowledged, by any staff, even the lady that seemed to be the manager; despite the fact she did walk out and returned to her office; thereby, passing me twice. It should be noted that said lady did warmly greet a white resident that had been waiting in the lobby for a ride, but never acknowledged my presence. After, approximately waiting 35 minutes, I got up and went to said lady’s office door and was now comfortably back at her desk; I politely informed her of how I had been waiting for over 30 minutes and had never been acknowledged, not even by her, although she saw me sitting, in her direct line of sight. Said lady responded that she thought I was a resident, waiting for a ride, which made it worse, as she she had acknowledged the other residents waiting for a ride, who just happened to be a white lady and I, a black lady. I explained that I had a 11:00 am tour scheduled with Crystal and it was now 11:32 am and not one person acknowledged my presence. Said lady then informed me that Crystal was not even at work and she had failed to put me on schedule, as there was nothing showing I was scheduled for a tour.
I politely told said lady that I would be leaving and was no longer interested in renting/leasing from this location and I departed. I write this complaint, on 11/12/24 and to date, I have not received any type of communications from Crystal or anyone else from this property to offer even the most basic apology. I found the entire behavior and experience to be absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional and completely inappropriate!
I had been looking for a friend for a couple of years, then myself, and when I walked into this place, I knew I didn’t need to look further. I have attended several events and could not find a red flag, and I am a hard grader. The staff and the residents are people you would be lucky to have as neighbors. I am moving in on Monday.
