I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After a few months time at a beautiful large facility in their small 15 resident memory care unit my father fell and suffered 2 fractures of his shoulder. They just didn’t have the staff to care for him. I took him home and started looking for a small memory care home for him. It took 10 months to finally find Cottage Inn, that is part of Ventura County Senior Care. The staff is loving and caring. The home is cozy and clean.
We were very fortunate when The Cottage Inn located in Ventura, CA, had a room available for temporary respite care for my 98 year old mother. Tucked away in a serene, tranquil neighborhood, the experienced staff provided individualized attention supporting the residents’ needs, demonstrating respectful, caring, patient, and encouraging manners. The way the care providers interacted both with the residents and with one another made this a welcoming and safe place. Family and friends were welcome to visit residents too.
The staff adhered to strict medication management procedures and operated in accordance with federal, state, and county rules for elder care facilities, including cleanliness standards. There was a shared learning curve around diabetes management and diabetic-friendly food options related to my mother’s care, and the staff embraced the learning opportunity. It was easy to communicate with The Cottage Inn owner/manager when questions or concerns arose, and issues were addressed promptly.
We were grateful for this small, quiet gem of a place that offers a home-like environment.
Best place to take care of a loved one! The facilities are clean and the staff is so pleasant. Cannot say enough about the care and consistency provided for our family. Cinthia and Evelyn were both lovely and so helpful and caring. Great during Covid- kept everyone safe and tested regularly. They were great about keeping us informed throughout everything. Needed to be put on a waitlist but it was worth it. My first and only choice to entrust with the care of my family!
The care that we have witnessed has been excellent at Ventura County Senior Care. The staff are always extremely helpful and we have noticed a vast improvement in the health and well-being of the residents. It is such a relief knowing that this institution is safe and being properly looked after.
Additionally, the homes are very clean and tidy and the rooms contain all the furnishings that a resident could need.
