It truly pains me to write this because there were some incredibly compassionate and attentive nurses and physical therapist’s at this facility who don’t deserve a negative review. However, a few bad apples can make an already heartbreaking situation even worse.
My dad was in this facility for two and a half weeks, and during that time, we only saw the doctor once. Despite our repeated requests due to concerns about my dad’s condition, we never saw the doctor again after the one time he came during the first week.
During his stay, my dad contracted scabies from the gowns they would put on him. We requested to see the doctor and have ointment ordered for treatment, but despite our repeated efforts, we never received it.
A particularly upsetting incident involved a staff member named Stephanie, who failed to properly flush my dad’s PEG tube. When we asked her to do so, she rolled her eyes and made a sarcastic remark. We had to ask the head nurse to ensure it was done correctly. It’s heartbreaking to experience such disregard from those entrusted with patient care, especially when family members are already physically and emotionally drained.
Today, my dad’s condition worsened, and he had to be rushed to the ER. As the EMTs were transferring him to the gurney, Stephanie entered the room and, instead of showing any concern, said, “That’s our bed,” referring to the air mattress he was lying on. Even when the EMTs told her it was an emergency, she continued with an unnecessary attitude.
I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. I can only hope she finds it in her heart to be more compassionate and aware of how her actions affect others. I don’t have the energy to argue with people who choose to be unkind for no reason, but I pray that every patient in this facility has someone looking out for them. It is a deeply sad place to be.
Great staff. They are like family. Great place overall that is very welcoming.
This place is a joke staff are so rude it takes them forever when called to change a patient’s diaper to the point of them getting a UTI. Front desk won’t even acknowledge you when you approach them for help one with her airpods on and the other pretending to be one her computer. It’s ridiculous to see what the medical facilities have become and we supposed to trust this people to take care of our loved ones.
