  1. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Kulana Malama for providing such a wonderful place for my special needs son. He truly enjoyed the care and companionship of the staff, as well as being surrounded by other children. I highly recommend this facility to any family with children who have special needs. Kulana Malama is the only place on the island that offers respiratory services, which was invaluable for us. A special thank you to all the staff, and especially Ron, for the exceptional care they’ve shown my child.

  2. The staff at Kulana Malama have been exceptionally responsive to all of my nephew’s needs. Whenever I had any concerns, I reached out to them, and they consistently followed up with updates on his well-being. He was placed in a beautiful room, surrounded by other children, creating a warm and supportive environment. I am deeply grateful to Kulana Malama and its wonderful staff for welcoming my nephew, Xavier, and providing much-needed respite for his parents. Xavier always looks forward to his time there.

A special thank you to Ron for his unwavering commitment to providing children with disabilities the opportunity to thrive in a loving and nurturing home.

  3. The night staff here are especially moody, rude, or simply lacking social skills/soft skills–or as they call it, “bedside manner.” It’s probably a combination of long hours, lower pay, and difficult patients, but it’s no excuse. Plus, it doesn’t help that the majority of this staff is FOB Ilokano (a kind of Filipino) and they seem to have racist tendencies to anyone who speaks straight English or doesn’t look like them. Their expressions and responses make it so obvious.

I pity those families that have to deal with these folks, let alone the patients. Who knows what mal-practices might go on here that’s unchecked or underreported. SMH.

  4. Wonderful, loving facility for the medically fragile, they do so much for the residents and really give from their heart to take care of the residents. We love all the fun things to do throughout the year and treasure the memories made! ☀️☀️☀️
