Touring the memory care for my father was the saddest most disheartening thing I have seen in awhile. The staff seemed nice enough from what I could tell but the conditions of the building are terrible, it was very dark all around. Many of the residence were either in wheelchairs plopped by a TV or laying alone in their rooms. It did not seem like there was enough staff to patient ratio happening. Building needs a MAJOR overhaul, and what I saw regarding care was not pleasant. I wouldn’t send my loved one here, there are a lot of other options for Medicaid and definitely other options for private pay.
This place is very unprofessional and rude both to agency workers and help that they NEED. I picked up a shift here for the first time and they failed to give me report on the patients I was assigned to. Also one of the CNAs told me to just go in a patients room and take their vitals before I even introduced myself and what I was doing which is definitely NOT how we are trained. I ended up leaving and was messaged by a worker there asking for me to come back. I was willing to give them another chance because the conversation went well (so I thought), even tried to give them another chance and booked another shift to help them out as I told them I would be open to doing.. just for me to check my app and they BLOCKED me. Highly would not recommend this place because if they are doing this to workers, I can only imagine how a patient would feel. Not cool. Definitely will be reporting to higher ups as well.
Didn’t inspire confidence. We didn’t consider moving mother back after hospitalization interrupted her stay. Response time once a call button was pushed was poor and resulted in a bathroom debacle/mess without an attendant. Be prepared for some insurmountable language barriers. No affordances/signage to help dementia patients understand how to work their call light. A urinary tract infection went undiscovered for days; no urine analysis was performed. Perhaps better care was given while we weren’t there, but I doubt it.
This is an amazing facility with caring and compassionate staff.
