  1. My father was in the Whitestone community for two years before his death this month. We could not have asked for more compassionate, skilled, care while he was alive. The care center is immaculate and beautiful. The staff are exceptional people and they love their residents. I cannot praise Whitestone enough. We are eternally grateful for their kindnesses.

  2. My father initially went to Whitestone for rehab, moved into skilled nursing and shortly after received a cancer diagnosis. Two months after the cancer diagnosis he passed away. Every single person At Whitestone was wonderful! From the rehab therapists, to the CNA’s in skilled nursing, and even the activities director were absolutely wonderful. Not to mention my dad loved the food! Thank you, to everyone at Whitestone for taking such good care of My father!

  3. Although a sad time for my family as my mother recently joined her heavenly family, the staff at Whitestone made the transition so much easier. The nursing staff became like our family- they laughed with us, cried with us, and supported us throughout the process. The memory care team is phenomenal- we feel so blessed to have had their support. We had such positive experiences with the independent living team, also!

  4. First, I want to say that the bedside staff was great! The Nurses,CNAs, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy were compassionate and caring and addressed concerns to the best of there ability. However, I was there night and day the majority of the time with my family member for 3 weeks, and if I wasn’t, someone else was there, so that does also make a difference and I provided all of the Nursing care.

Now to the not so pleasant part. They have the phone numbers listed in everyroom of there leadership staff and administrative staff but it does no good if nobody responds. I will start from the top down. The facility Administrator Josh Hillegass did not address my issue after leaving a voicemail of an ongoing issue that was threatening to my family member and could not get in touch with the Director of Nursing so I elevated the issue to him. He never called me back and I never heard a response! Second, the Director of Nursing Crystal Condy did not address the issue after I had the nursing staff contact her because the on-call doctors did not return any of the nurses calls due to a medical issue with my family member. The nurses told her, I wanted to speak with her on a voicemail which was not returned and did not come and speak to me at all. In addition, the situation had to do with Kimberly Barnwell Nurse Practitioner and being incompetent when it came to my family members’ medication. This battle continued for over a week trying to get it resolved. This turned into a deadly situation until I spoke with the Chief Medical Officer that immediately resolved the issue once I told him the situation. It would definitely be in your loved ones best interest in not allowing Kim to treat them and in addition, I’ve heard multiple other complaints of patients having to go to the hospital because of her treatment and they didn’t come back or didn’t make it. Please everybody check to make sure that all your regular scheduled medications are correct including doseage and how many times a day you take them, this was a constant issue, meds were discontinued for no reason. Warning, Check this daily!!!!Every single day, multiple times a day there were ambulances coming to take patients to the hospital and I understand why. This is extremely disappointing, I did my clinical rotation here at this facility over 23yrs ago and it was a better place then and didnt have all of these unnecessary issues. The place is nicely remodeled from over 23yrs ago, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t get cared for appropriately. Now there are multiple complaints that I’ve witnessed from several patients and other family members. Certain things shouldn’t be an issue if the leadership did there job and actually cared about people. This is a reflection of poor leadedship skills. This is coming from a person in leadership in healthcare which shouldn’t make a difference because everyone should be treated the same. These days people get into healthcare for the money and job stability. Josh, crystal, Kim this is how you bring curses amoung yourself, your children, and your childrens children (This is called generational curse), by not doing your job, being careless, and could care less about an actual life of a human being. Maybe you will learn later on in life, it will actually be beneficial to do people right and you won’t have soo many issues going on in your personal life and effecting the people you love. Everybody deserves respect!!! Get out of healthcare if you don’t want to show respect and compassion. Dr. Amin is the only competent leader and the only one that actually cared about a human life!
If you still decide to bring your loved one to this place after reading this review, my best advice I can give is if you start having issues just contact the state and report the facility and you can report people to the board of nursing as well, stay with your loved one as long as you can day and night, and most importantly pray to Jesus Christ to watch over them and allow them to make it out unharmed and alive!
