I met Bonnie McVeigh today at Walmart of all places.
She was dressed for Valentine’s day.
I asked where she works.

My face falls.
Had to put one of my dearest friends into memory care there two days ago.
We chat for several minutes.
She asks if she can give me a hug and tells me even tho she works in independent living she will deliver a rose today to my friend!
Not sure I have ever met a better equipped or kinder individual!

My Mom has been a resident at American House for almost two years, and I have never seen her happier as she approaches her 90th birthday. The staff is truly exceptional—compassionate, patient, and highly knowledgeable in supporting older adults in their daily lives. They create a warm and welcoming environment filled with engaging activities and fun events that keep the residents active and connected. The meals are excellent, providing both quality and variety that my Mom truly enjoys.
Though I was initially hesitant about independent living, I now know it was the best decision. I have complete confidence that my mom is safe, well cared for, and genuinely happy. A huge thank you to American House for the outstanding care and community they provide!
This community is amazing in more ways than 1. The staff is excellent. From the executive director to the rest of the team you can tell they all care so much. The apartments are beautiful and kept up so well. Great place to live as my parents are there and so happy. Highly recommend .
American House Bonita Springs is a beautiful community. It is newly renovated, warm and inviting. The care is excellent and the staff truly care. Bonnie, Life Enrichment Director, and her team keep the residents feeling included, joyful, and empowered. Their activities include educational presentations, fitness, meditation and even axe throwing!
