Fountainview offers independent and assisted living options situated in the heart of West Palm Beach, providing a vibrant senior living community.
Lovely visit with a family member who had just moved to Fountainview a short time ago, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of activities and cozy common areas, there is truly something for everyone. The facility also offers a variety of engaging activities and programs that keep the residents active and entertained.
One of the highlights of my visit was the food, we decided to stay for dinner. The dining experience was exceptional. I couldn’t get over the menu for a senior living facility, like nothing I have ever seen. The food service staff deserves special mention, they seemed very attentive, friendly, and willing to accommodate special requests from the residents. Their warm and welcoming demeanor added to the overall positive dining experience.
All of the staff that we came across and interacted with seemed to go above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of the residents. Their compassion and professionalism are evident in every interaction, making the residents feel valued and cared for. I will be sure to make note of Fountainview for when I reach that next phase of life!
I have been here for 3+ years…I have a nice apt.and overall this residence is basically alright…maintenance is generally good…William, in particular, has been outstanding…housekeeping is only fair, and Cece needs to hire more, younger, energetic help, and make sure the apt. is cleaned every week, as promised, about dining…the budget is too small…the quality of food products mediocre..Kate Eastman, the dining director, has her hands tied, with limited options…she is short staffed, both in the kitchen( hire more qualified, BETTER PAID chefs and cooks )( Pasqual, the dishwasher, has been doing a nice job, helping with the food prep and cooking ) the wait staff is also short staffed and underpaid, and stand many complaints about the meals, Kate, however did a Valentine’s Day dinner, under the aforementioned obstacles, with steak ( first time in forever ), lobster tail, and shrimp cocktail…Outstanding successful effort…Kate needs a raise and a much better budget…finally, the community director, who seems to care more about the corporation’s goals, than the residents well being, needs to be more visible, and more interested in what their concerns actually are…Kim, who was the assistant director, always came around during dinner hours, to field questions and concerns, her hands were also tied, as to what she could accomplish, and she soon moved on, hopefully to a better property and position
Beware of Fountainview’s Unpredictable Rate Increases
When I first chose Fountainview as the assisted living facility for my grandmother, the initial rates and promises seemed fair and reassuring. The staff appeared attentive, and the environment felt welcoming. However, over time, my experience has become increasingly frustrating and disappointing.
Despite their claim that rates are assessed only once per year in January, I’ve received multiple calls throughout the year notifying me of unexpected rate increases. These incremental hikes seem arbitrary and make financial planning nearly impossible. It feels as though they strategically raise costs little by little to amplify the standard end-of-year increase.
What’s most concerning is the lack of transparency and empathy in these practices. There’s no clear rationale provided for the frequent adjustments, leaving families feeling blindsided and burdened.
I made the mistake of initially placing my trust in the management without scrutinizing due to the urgent need for my grandmother to move. Now, I find myself seeking legal counsel to address these issues. If you’re considering Fountainview for your loved ones, I strongly recommend consulting an elder care attorney to thoroughly review any agreements.
Unfortunately, my experience with Fountainview has been a cautionary tale I hope others can learn from.
My mom has been a resident in Fountainview for over 3 years. I am not going to write about all the negatives I have encountered along the way. The ONE positive thing about this facility is Miguel Estrada the director of activities. I have witnessed for myself the joy and love that this man gives to his residents and all the staff. He is one of the most dedicated employees I have seen at this facility. These residents live for spending time with him in the activities room or doing whatever amazing things he has planned. He goes above and beyond for the residents. He makes them lunches and breakfasts, they look forward to anything Miguel has planned. We sadly found out Miguel was leaving. To say this is the biggest loss for a facility would be an understatement. He is why residents stay at Fountainview. He is the happiness that these people need! Without him being there I know that these residents will all be depressed and feeling sadness. No one can replace what Miguel brings to this faculty! I went to his going away party and there was not one dry eye in the room! This speaks volumes! I don’t understand how Fountainview isn’t fighting to keep this irreplaceable employee on their staff. This is a huge huge loss for Fountianview and a major gain to wherever it is Miguel is off to.
My mother hated the food. I ate lunch there and got sick once. The jacuzzi was closed by health Dept when I was there. The staff did not check on my mother as she laid in her apt with a stroke. The nurse I hired found her in the morning. The stroke happened the night before. My brother n his wife showed up to get her things after she died. I had to sort thru her things tcb. There was a lot of sentimental and things of value.i commend the nurse I hired for taking mom’s diamond off her finger giving to my sister in law . She said the staff would steal it. Sandy said I could stay there until the funeral as mom was paid up in rent. In the morning the mgr Sarah and the guard threw me out! I was in mourning cold hearted manager. I should have made report . My mom wanted to leave fountainview. She wanted kosher food. They ignored her dietary preferences. I will never know truth about why Boone knew mom died really all alone. But Sarah didn’t want me talking to her neighbors. They were afraid liability. My advice. If ur parent is not in good perfect Heath don’t go fountain view.
