I have 2 grandmothers Illinois Parker( 104 yrs old) and Catherine Hayes( 102 yrs old) and they along with the other residents receive excellent care at Solaris.
The residents are amazing and most of the staff genuinely care about their work and the patients. The facility is great however the administrator does not know how to talk to people. I give the facility itself a 5 star but if I were rating based on leadership (administrator) alone, I would rate it a 5 star if you are on her good side. The moment you upset her, it would drop to a 1 star or below because she talks down to you in front of peers and groups. She lies and gossips with the few she calls her favorites. She does not know how to manage stress and takes things out on her staff. Nothing is ever good enough. She expects you to report any negative reviews as abuse to get them removed. When things are good they are good but when they are not, she makes it a very toxic environment to be in. One where you wake up dreading going to work. My mental health took a toll working for her. She brings down the entire facility vibe when she has a bad day. Talking down to people should not be allowed and making people fear coming to work should not be allowed. She is rude, and unprofessional when residents, families aren’t around, or corporate is in the building. A lot of folks refuse to say anything due to fear of retaliation but retaliation is REAL in that facility. Beware if you plan to work there. You will be talked about, you will be disrespected, and you will be treated like absolute garbage because the administrator does not know how to talk to people. And don’t ever disagree with her. That is how it starts. Just smile and nod and go about your day because the ramification is not worth the toll it takes on your mental health. Great facility to put your loved one because the care is amazing. The line staff really care. But I do advise against working there until they get an administrator that knows how to talk to people and is not abusive to her staff and who does not talk to other staff about personal things discussed with her. She is the main rumor spreader in that facility.
The administrator that works here is a shady character. Trying to get employees to do unethical things to line her pockets. Don’t go along with iwhat she want and she writes you up or terminate you .And if your loved one gets sick and has to go to the ER, she will give up there bed with out let you know so when your loved one gets out of er they have no where to go. It’s sad that all these people care about this money. I wont let my dying dog go here for care.
Do not take a job here. The entire class of orientation quit in about a week . The nasty treatment from the staff to new staff members is unbelievable. I left messages texts because that’s how they prefer to be reached through the staffing phone. Saying that I needed to talk to someone. Complaining about the treatment. Also asking someone to call me. None of those messages were answered and no one called. I didn’t want to quit I needed that job. But how much bullying behavior can you take. I also called the administrator left her a voicemail she never returned my call. I will be calling corporate office of Solaris I kept notes on everything that was said to me how I was treated and by who. Obviously something’s very wrong with this place if the entire orientation class quit. And no one even cared no one replied and no one bothered even an hr’s office to call and see if I was okay or if I was coming back or what was going on. No one cares here. Get a job somewhere else. This is literally one of the worst nursing homes I’ve taken a job in as far as the way you were treated by other staff. They all have this problem where they allow people to get bullied right out the door when you’re new but never have I seen it chase people out the door this fast. CONSTANT problem in nursing homes in FL. These nursing homes are just terrible. This was written by Natalie Scott. Edit to add I just spoke with HR to get my one paycheck copy. I was basically blamed for quitting and told now I cannot work in any Solaris. She said they have protocols for bullying treatment. And I should have called her. I’ve been doing this over 15 yrs. There’s NOTHING HR can ever do to stop the poor behavior by their staff. I love when we get blamed for leaving. That was not a friendly call. She seemed annoyed.no apologies. Just blaming me for not calling. I sent 5 texts to staffing for help about the treatment before I left. No answer. I’m not wasting more time reaching out for help from management that will do nothing. Never does. Then they are rude to u when u leave. um if u are HR or management and u see a new person hasn’t returned why haven’t YOU reached out and called to check on your employee?? Unprofessional rude staff. I also got blamed for not reaching out to the nurse supervisor for help Lol. U mean the one who talked to my special needs boy like garbage when he called to speak to his mom?? Michelle I think.
My mom was here for 2 weeks for rehab after a bad car accident. The care she received was excellent! From the caregivers, nurses and physical therapists. We are so grateful for everyone who cared for her and got her back on her feet. Thank you!
