My father recently passed away and I had to move my step mom closer to me as the primary caregiver. I toured many facilities as I wanted only the best for my mom. Well when I came to the Meridian, and met Ana, Kirk and Beatriz, I knew this was the place. The attention to detail; the knowledge and love they bring to what they do is amazing. From day one, they took time to learn about my mom- who has dementia and at stage 8 of her disease, and get to know her. You can tell they truly care and love what they do. I love how they have a lot of activities for them. They are not just sitting around like Zombies like some of the other places I toured. She gets to go for field trips, out to the dock to watch the boats, cars, planes and people pass by. They engage her in simple but stimulating activities. She is never bored. She is always clean and always smiling. Her room is always kept clean and tidy. I come at all hours of the day and I find this to always be the case. I am so happy to have the peace of mind knowing that my mom is in the very BEST of hands and in a place I would live myself when that day should come. It means so much to have such wonderful people, especially Beatriz, taking such great care of mom. Beatriz is truly an angel 😇 I know my dad is looking down smiling and saying this too. The building and the people who work here are wonderful. It is a clean, secure and happy environment. Beatriz does an excellent job in memory care working with the residents. I’m so glad I chose The Meridian at Waterways for my mom.
I don’t write reviews often… only if I have received exceptionally good or bad service. I cannot speak highly enough about the Meridian at Waterways where I recently moved my elderly stepdad. This place was one of the three highest rated in Fort Lauderdale and to me was the best of all worlds. Not only is this location, convenient and located on the Intercoastal so your loved one can watch boats go by and enjoy incredible water views. But they have the most amazing staff, facilities, food, and activities. Ana McKinney, Is the sales rep and I cannot speak highly enough about her.
She is a wonderful, dynamic, and caring person who gets the job done quickly with minimal effort on your part. She has Awesome energy and is always smiling and happy to help. She is an extremely detailed person who does her work accurately & efficiently. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and an absolute asset at the institution. Rubio, his head of nursing and excellent, as is Rosemary, who is head of activities. Everyone is extremely friendly and efficient at doing their job. All the staff knew about my stepdad, where he was and what he did during the day… Within two days of him being there! I also had the pleasure of dealing with Jaheim, who is in charge of maintenance. He installed the flat panels TV and completely set it up for my stepdad and taught him how to use it. He also set up his lift chair. He took care of everything in less than 24 hours from when the package was received even though it was on a holiday weekend!
The Meridian, has an extensive Variety of activities for your loved one going on all day long and they even have movies virtually every night. Rosemary is the director and she is really on top of knowing what’s going on and where your loved one is And whether they participated or not, which she actively encourages to create a great community.
The food at this place is amazing and is cooked to order not cafeteria style!!! There is amazing variety of food and it is all extremely tasty. The chef is very caring and dedicated to serving The highest quality, food, &accommodatingall your loved ones desires
Frankly, as a Doctor Who has worked in multiple hospitals and nursing Facilities, I have never seen an institution run so expertly and such good natured & efficient staff as they have at the Meridian. This is PERFECTION!!! Another great plus is whoever is training the people has done an amazing job. Everyone walks around with a smile on their face, is super friendly, & happy to help you in anyway, And they are very patient. I am so happy to write this review as this assisted living facility has consistently exceeded my expectations & blown me away with how efficient and warm they are. To give you an example, when I arrived with my stepdad, they actually rolled out a red carpet, and all the staff came to greet him and welcome him to the Meridian. They are definitely an A+ institution and I am glad I made this choice
My Mom had a stroke 13 years ago, thankfully no major side effects from it, but we had to get her 24/7 home care to help with personal stuff. I thought things were going great until I found out 1 Aid was very ,moody which made my Mom quiet and reserved. I finally made the move and found the Meridian at Waterways. I spoke with Kirk and knew in my heart I had found Mom her new home. We moved her in to a fan fair welcome with red carpets music and lots of workers singing and clapping as we strolled Mom in. It’s been almost 2 months and I am NOT kidding every person that works there is super nice, caring, patient and KIND! The food is amazing the PT, Front Desk, Admin, Beauty shop, and all the rest of the staff THANK YOU!
People there are so nice and very friendly. Highly recommended 😊😊
